Game 4 vs. Jets

Going into this game we looked to have our strongest line up so far this season.  With just about all of our senior players available selection was made very difficult and tough decisions made.  This is a luxury our club has and will lead to a lot of competition for spots on the team. 

Expecting a physical contest as is the norm against the Jets, the team was selected accordingly.  When the buzzer sounded to end the game, it would appear the players who played had performed as expected.

Game 3 vs. Demons

A poor preparation for this game could have led to disappointing result, however the mettle of the players held it together and the Hawks skated to a 5 - 1 win over the Demons.

With four players dressing for the Melbourne Ice vs. Canberra Knights game immediately before ours, the final line up wasn't settled until minutes before the puck dropped.  Still unable to put our best team on the rink, the players that were selected were a formidable group and it would need a strong effort from the Demons to get past us.

Game 2 vs. Braves

After a disappointing loss in the first game, the team was looking forward to a stronger showing against last year's premiers.  However, in the days leading up to the game, several key players were not able to be selected and the look of the team took on a considerably different appearance. 

This week's team included debutant Brendan McDOWELL (7) and Sage MEISTER (14) who had just returned from playing in France with the Australian Youth Team.  Also returning to the line up was Nick FERRONI (19) who was unavailable for the first week.  Out were Doug STEVENSON (inj), Andrew TAYLOR (suspended) and David KUCERA (inj).

Game 1 vs. Tigers

In a hard fought and extremely fast paced game, the Blackhawks went down to the Tigers 2 - 1 in their first game of the 2008 IHV Premier "A" season.
